Highlights:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL SAIGON (DINNER)

  • You are met at the airport and transferred to your central city hotel. After freshening up you are taken on an orientation tour of this vibrant city. This evening, welcome cruise dinner

DAY 2: SAIGON CITY TOUR (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

  • Commencing your tour of this historical city you visit many landmarks, including the Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, former Presidential Palace, War Remnants Museum, Cholon and the Ben Thanh markets, where your bartering skills will be tested.
  • Tonight you may wish to visit the night markets. Lunch is included for this day for which you will be delighted with the food as well as the presentation.
  • Stay overnight in Saigon.

DAY 3: SAIGON - VUNG TAU (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

  • This morning you travel south by hydrofoil to the sea side resort of Vung Tau.
  • After booking into your hotel you visit the White Villa, the fishing village located behind the hills and the former area known as “Flags”.
  • After lunch at the hotel you visit back beach, although nothing remains of the Peter Badcoe Club or 1 ALSG you can visit the beach opposite, now a Vietnamese favorite, and take a dip or swim in the South China Sea.
  • You will also visit the massive VC Memorial located where 1 ALSG HQ once was. (Your major belongings may be left with the Hotel and a smaller bag for the 3 nights can be carried with you).
  • Stay overnight in Vung Tau.

DAY 4: VUNG TAU – LONG TAN – NUI DAT – LONG PHUOC (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

  • This morning’s travels take you to the Long Tan Battlefield passing what is left of the Horseshoe on the way. (The Horseshoe was mined several years ago and entry is no longer permitted).
  • You visit the former Task Force Base Nui Dat and the township of Hoa Long. A boxed lunch is provided at Long Phuoc and you return to Vung Tau mid-afternoon.
  • Stay overnight in Vung Tau.

DAY 5: VUNG TAU - BARIA - DAT DO - LONG HAI’S - BINH BA - SAIGON (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

  • After breakfast you travel northeast to visit the township of Ba Ria, the town of Dat Do, Cao Dai monastery where you have tea with the monks, the Long Hai’s and the Minh Dam Secret Zone for a Commemorative Service commencing at 11.00am.
  • A boxed lunch is provided on a private beach with rest rooms, covering from the sun and relaxing beach chairs.
  • After lunch you make your way back to Saigon via the village of Binh Ba.
  • A refreshment stop is made and you should be back in the city of Saigon by late afternoon. After booking into your hotel the remainder of the day is at leisure.
  • Stay overnight in Saigon.

DAY 6: SAIGON - CU CHI TUNNELS (BREAKFAST/)

  • You travel northwest to this former underground VC village, stopping en route to watch rice paper being made.
  • For those fit and daring enough you can craw along some of the original tunnels.
  • After viewing the tunnel systems you may wish to visit the rifle range where for approximately $1.00 US per round you can fire a variety of weapons including an AK47 or M16 assault rifle.
  • After lunch on the picturesque river you return to Saigon, arriving back mid afternoon. (As this is a fun day expect to get a little red soil on your clothes, and to the ladies may we suggest shorts or slacks).
  • Stay overnight in Saigon. 

DAY 7: SAIGON - MEKONG DELTA (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

  • After breakfast you take a scenic drive south to the Mekong Delta and on arrival board your private motorized boat and travel the tributaries of the Mekong Delta.
  • You see coconut candy being made, taste and purchase as much as you like (you can even bring it back to Australia) and then sit down to a traditional morning tea with seasonal fruits, tea and traditional music.
  • Afterwards you re-board your boat where you are taken to another Island for lunch. Stay overnight in Can Tho.

DAY 8: MEKONG DELTA – FLOATING MARKET (BREAKFAST)

  • After breakfast at hotel, boarding a motor boat for a long distance trip to discover the area's largest marketplace...on water! Then cruising through small channels to visit a rice noodle making village, a large rice mill. Experience the “monkey Bridge "in the Delta.
  • After that, we have lunch at the local restaurant before returning to Ho Chi Minh City at 06.00pm - 07.00pm.

DAY 9: SAIGON FREE DAY (BREAKFAST)

  • Today has been set aside as a free day to allow you to recharge the batteries.
  • You may wish to laze by the pool, continue your sightseeing or visit the shops and markets for the many bargains on offer.
  • Stay overnight in Saigon. 

DAY 10: SAIGON – DANANG – HOI AN (BREALFAST/LUNCH)

  • This morning bid farewell to Saigon and take the 08.30 flight to Da Nang.
  • You are met at the airport and driven the short distance south to the former trading port of Hoi An.
  • After booking into your hotel you lunch and then take a Cyclo tour along the narrow streets and cross the 400 year old Japanese covered bridge and visit ancient houses, galleries and a silk tailor shop, Hoi An retains the feel of centuries past.
  •  Mid-afternoon you can relax by the swimming pool or start you’re shopping for clothes, shoes, bags etc.
  • Stay overnight in Hoian. 

DAY 11: HOI AN – MY SON HOLY (BREAKFAST)

  • 8.00 AM: Pick you up at your hotel. 
  • Depart by bus for our one hour journey to My Son. Lots of good photo opportunities while on the bus.
  • Arrive in My Son. Take a nice walk with your guide for around 1 hour to see the historic and cultural ruins of the 16th century. My son offers you many impressive sites. You will be brought back to the glorious time of the Champa civilization
     
  • Then you have free time to relax, discover, or have cup of coffee for around 1 more hour.
    We then depart My Son and head back to Hoi an arriving around 12.30 PM.
  • Afternoon time is a free day to laze by the pool, visit the beach, continue your sightseeing, or visit the silk tailor shops and galleries for gifts. For those who wish to do a cooking course this can be arranged in a family owned restaurant. 
  • Stay overnight in Hoian.

DAY 12: HOI AN  – HUE (BREAKFAST)

  • 07.45am - 08.00am bus pick-up from hotel and transfer to Hue. It takes 3-4 hours.

Afternoon: Continue at 01.30 pm

  • Hue Citadel (90 minutes).
  • Thien Mu Pagoda (30 minutes).
  • Then get on the boat for a sight -seeing along the Perfume River to see fishing village and sampan on the way back. Do no miss the Sunset on the Perfume River!
    Back to town at 04.30 pm.
  •  Free leisure in Hue.

Included: Touris bus to Hue & tour and accommodation.

DAY 13: MORNING HUE CITY TOUR – FLIGHT TO HANOI BY AFTERNOON.

  • Depart at 08.30 am (Pick up at your hotel 8.00 am by tourist bus).

Morning:

1. Minh Mang Tomb (60 minutes).
2. Khai Dinh Tomb (40 minutes).
3. Tu Duc Tomb (40 minutes).
4. Conical Hat Making Village and Incense Making Village (20minutes).
5. Kinh Van An Matial Art (30 minutes).

12.30pm: Back to Town for lunch.

BUFFET LUNCH (50 TRADITIONAL HUE FOODS, ASIAN AND WESTERN DISHES). Vegertarian food on request.

  • After lunch, 13.00pm we will transfer you to airport to flight to Hanoi at 14.20pm.
  • Arrive in Hanoi. Our driver will pick you up from airport and transfer to hotel in Hanoi.
  • Stay overnight in Hanoi.

DAY 14: HANOI CITY TOUR (BREAKFAST)

Today you visit several landmarks, including, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the former Presidential Palace, the modest stilt house of President Ho Chi Minh, One Pillar Pagoda built in 1049, Hoan Kiem Lake (Lake of the Restored Sword), Ngoc Son temple, The Temple of Literature is worth a visit and Quoc Tu Giam…

  • 08:00am - 08:30am our guide & driver will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter. Then visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum. Enjoy the architectural and historical aspects of Uncle Ho's final resting-place. Just next door is Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Lying to one side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 the structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. Continue to visit the Quan Thanh Temple (Taoist dating from the Ly Dynasty) and Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda on West lake (One of the oldest in Vietnam). Have a lunch at local restaurant.
     
  • PM: After lunch proceeds to visit the Ethnology Museum continue to visit the Literature Temple and Quoc Tu Giam. Vietnam's first university constructed in 1070 its gardens and well-preserved architecture offers a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam's past.  We will take you past Hoan Kiem Lake see the peaceful waters and visit Ngoc Son temple. For the end of the tour journey visit by coach trip along the Hanoi Old Quarter.  Free for shopping.
     
  • Tour ends around at 15:30 (If you book from deluxe to V.I.P Types, you will enjoy Water Puppet Show from 15:30 to 16:15, then back your hotel around at 16:45).

DAY 15: HANOI - HA LONG  BAY (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)

May we suggest an overnight bag for the trip to Ha Long City; your other belongings can be left safely at your hotel in Hanoi.

  • After breakfast - 08:00 – 8:30AM Pick up service at your hotel and depart for Ha Long City. On arrival in Ha Long City you board your boat for an overnight stay on Ha Long Bay.
     
  • After cruising among the rocky limestone Islands of nature’s wonder you disembark to visit the Thien Cung Cave which is one of the more spectacular grottoes. Bring your swimming gear; the boat will anchor in the calm waters of this scenic wonderland allowing you to swim in safety and privacy. 
     
  • Enjoy an hour or more kayaking through slide rock cliffs before swimming and relaxing on white sandy beach (weather permitted).
     
  • Board back the cruise, take shower and relax on upper deck bar.
     
  • Tonight you will dine in dinner in romantic atmosphere which have been made into a restaurant.
     
  •   Evening activities – enjoy movie night, board games, squid fishing or relax at leisure.

DAY 18: HA LONG BAY - CAT BA ISLAND (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)

* OPTION 1: Hotel or Bungalow

  • 07:45        Breakfast, tea and coffee will be served.
     
  • 08:30        Start cruising to visit Van Gia floating village and passing by Halong Pearl Farm.
     
  • 09:30        Take a local boat  to Lan Ha bay.
     
  • 10:30 Biking at Catba national park, to visit VietHai village, in the valley of the heart of Cat Ba National Park
     
  • 13:30        Visit Nam Cat Island. Lunch.
     
  • 14.00         Swimming or kayaking activities to explore the untouched area in LanHa bay.
     
  • 15:00        Visit Monkey island.
     
  • 15:30        Check in the Deluxe Bungalow on Nam Cat island (Catba Sandy Beach resort) if staying in bungalow.  Free time for kayaking and swimming in private island.
     
  • 16:00         Boat trip to  Catba Island for checking in the hotel. Free to explore the town or swimming at the beach.
     
  • 18.30        Dinner and overnight in bungalow/ hotel.

* OPTION 2: Sleeping on the cruise one more night

  • 08:30        Arrive at Van Gia floating Village, swimming or kayaking activities to explore the untouched area in the entire Halong bay.
  • 12:30        Return to the day boat and then enjoy a sumptuous seafood lunch. Continue cruise through Ha Long Bay.
     
  • 14:00        Arrive at Hang Toi (Dark cave) for kayaking.
  • 16:30        Return to Cruiser .Relax at leisure.

DAY 19: CAT BA ISLAND – HA LONG BAY – HA NOI (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

  • 07:15        Cakes, fruits, tea and coffee will be served. Continue cruise through Halong Bay.
     
  • 10:30 – 11:00    Enjoy the cooking course after you pack your things and leave the cabin.
     
  • 11:30 – 12:00    Sail back Halong pier and take a van back to Hanoi.

DAY 20: HA NOI - DEPARTURE (BREAKFAST)

  • Late morning you transfer to the airport for your flights to Singapore where you board your overnight flights to your home states.

 Ask us about our extensions to Sapa, Laos, Cambodia or any other Asian destination.  Make the most your travels whilst you are in the area.
