Detail Itinerary for Southern and Central Vietnam Tour 5 Days 4 Nights

DAY 1:  CU CHI TUNNEL – HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR (LUNCH)

• Departure at 8.30 am. Start Cu Chi Tunnels Tour from Ho Chi Minh City, excursion Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground tunnels network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence. It took about 25 years to build this underground city, which has living rooms, kitchens, hospitals, weapon factories, storage facilities and command centre. The tunnel system was an excellent way for the Vietcong to move around the countryside undetected by the Americans and home to around 10,000 people who lived underground for several years.

• Before we go underground, we watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. We then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers.

• Have lunch at the restaurant, then we drive back to Ho Chi Minh City arriving at approximately 14.00pm.

• Notre Dame Cathedral: Located in the heart of the cityand it was built bythe Frenchin the late 1877s. Notre Dame is not just the oldest Christian church of Vietnam but also a unique and excellent architecture of Saigon.  

• General Post Office (Designed by Gustav Eiffel, the Post Office is a testament to the French presence in the late 1800s. The look and feel of this grand building is like an elegant railway station.

•  You'll then be driven to visit the Jade Emperor Temple. It’s one of the best Taoist temples in Vietnam, with superb effigies, remarkable carved panels of the descent to Hell and some what incongruous terrapin and tortoise sanctuaries. You can choose to visit Jade Emperor Temple or War Museum or Reunification Palace.  

• Then you’ll have approximately two hour to visit Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, is packed with every concievable commodity and a visit to lacquer workshop to see the complex processes and meticulous workmanship involved in this traditional Vietnamese craft product. DAY 2: HO CHI MINH CITY – DANANG – MARBLE MOUNTAIN – HOIAN OLD TOWN (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

• Airport transfer to Tan San Nhat airport.

• Arrival on Danang airport. Pick up and transfer to Hoi An old town.

• Have a lunch at the restaurant.

• We will stop to visit Cham museum. The Cham people occupied this area of Vietnam from the 4th to the 16th centuries and in the Museum you will find the best examples of Cham sculpture anywhere in the world. We continue south to Marble Mountain, series of large marble outcrops that have acquired mythical significance over the centuries. The Cover of the Marble Mountain has a number of sacred Buddhist shrines as well as a former Communist guerilla hospital from the Vietnam War.

• Overnight in Hoi An. Free at leisure.

DAY 3: HOI AN - MY SON HOLY LAND - DANANG (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

• 8.00am: Pick you up at your hotel.

• Depart to My Son around 01 hour to My Son.

• Arrive in My Son. Take a nice walk with your guide for around 1 hour to see the historic and cultural ruins of the 16th century. My son offers you many impressive sites. You will be brought back to the glorious time of the Champa civilization.

• Then you have free time to relax, discover, or have cup of coffee for around 1 more hour.

• We then depart My Son and head back to Hoi an arriving around 12.30 PM.

• Have a lunch in Hoian. Then guide will take you to visit Hoian Old Town, Hoi An was Vietnam's most active trading center over many centuries and has been largely preserved the architecture of the City reflects the influence of Chinese Japanese, Portuguese, French and British traders.

• Hoi An is also the town where French Missionary Alexander De Rhodes Introduced Catholicism to Vietnam as well as the Romanized script that has become the standard Vietnamese scrip; we take a walking your of enchanting Hoi An visiting an old merchant house, Hoi An Museum, a Chinese Assembly hall and the Japanese covered Bridge.

• Stay overnight in Hoian.

DAY 4: DANANG – HUE CITY TOUR (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)

•  Transport transfer to Hue from Danang in morning.

• Upon arrival at Hue, we will visit the impressive home of the Nguyen dynasty emperors - the Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda. Much of the citadel was destroyed during the Offensive in 1968 but is gradually being restored then.

• Then get on the boat for a sight -seeing along the Perfume River to see fishing village and sampan on the way back. Do no miss the Sunset on the Perfume River! Back to town at 04.30 pm.

• Overnight in Hue.
