Only 120km away from Ho Chi Minh City, the coastal city of Vung Tau has become one of the famous tourist attractions for travellers, especially at the weekend. In this article, Viet Fun Travel will show you how to travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau city.

HYDROFOIL

Journey duration: 1.5 hours.
Travelling by hydrofoil has become a popular choice for tourists. There are numerous sailings every day in both directions (HCM City - Vung Tau and Vung Tau - HCM City), from 6 a.m. to 4.3 p.m. Estimated journey duration is about 1 hour 45 minutes. The hydrofoil departs from Bach Dang Habour Pier and lands in Cau Da Pier of Vung Tau City. You can buy tickets at the pier or from travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City or Vung Tau (some hotels also sell these tickets).

Motobike

Option 1: Follow 1A National Route, you will meet Vung Tau Intersection after passing Dong Nai Bridge, then turn right into 51 National Route and keep going for about 100 kilometers.

Option 2: From Ho Chi Minh City, you can ride from Cai Lai (District 2, Ho Chi Minh City) to Nhon Trach (Dong Nai). This road will lead to 51 National Route (right at Nhon Trach Industrial Zone). With this option, you can save a bit time as it is 20 kilometers closer than option 1’s path, although the road condition is quite bad.
